Mommy Musings

So since I've become a mother I have felt Guilty about almost everything ... seriously about 500 times a day I have all different kinds of guilt and varying degrees of it coming at me from all directions and I'm just starting to realize it could very well all be of my own making.  I'm definitely not a super mom, but I am definitely not the worst mom.  So does that make me an average mom?  I do not know honestly.  I'm not a granola mom, I'm not a 'this is how my mom did it' mom, I'm not all about the easiest thing, I'm not crazy into attachment parenting, but she's not crying it out either.  I'm not depressed but I'm not happy.  I let my mom help a lot actually more than I'm comfortable with and I'm not sure how to feel about that.  I'm getting absolutely no sleep, I worry she doesn't love me, I worry because breast feeding was miserable for me, I feel guilty because I don't really know anything at all...I also feel massively guilty because my husband and I have seen 3 movies since she was born...I know...I've been away from her for 3+hrs 3times...the good moms out there are probably ready to make an example of me and burn me at the stake *whatever I'll go down like the Joan of Arc for all those moms who feel mediocre ... ya know like we're just squeaking by on the 'good mom' scale* it's funny she's 1 month old and I feel like I'm still trying to figure out what kind of mom I wanna be.  I'm comparing it to high school cliques.  Who am I gonna eat lunch with for the next 18+years..?  It's kind of a big decision ... just some late night musings for your boredom/insomnia but husband and baby are both sleep so now I think I may attempt it

Good night

Saving special cell phone pictures

Via

Do you ever look into your photos on your iphone or android and just think 'holy crap I have So many pictures!' or 'how the heck do I get them off of there?' I'm not going to lie for awhile I was just emailing myself like 5 pictures at a time then downloading them to the computer but that took ya know Forever and then I found this amazing app!  It's called Photo Transfer *the title says it all doesn't it?* and you can send/recieve things from your cell phone, ipad, computer it's so great and so easy!  It's $2.99 in the app store which is more than I'll usually spend on any app but I'm so glad I did this was totally worth it!  Now I don't have to worry about losing or deleting precious pictures I can simply send them to my computer and save them all!  Then  I can even delete them off of my phone to make more room for new memories and special moments!  I highly recommend this app not only is it super cheap but amazingly user-friendly!

Friday's Letters

Dear Organizher I fell in love with your stuff in this months issue of Better Homes and Gardens Storage magazine, especially the organizers for mail *pictured above aren't they to cute?!* !  I was so excited to purchase you...then I found out you are sold exclusively at target stores not online...so I have to drive an hour sometimes next week now to go get you.  That doesn't make me happy.  I'm 9 months pregnant so weird stuff like that is totally allowed to throw me off so completely.

*My mommy on the left, obviously me in the middle, and my aunt Diana on the right at my baby shower*
Dear Pregnant body we've done super good not gaining a ton of weight this pregnancy haven't gained 25lbs yet!  And we only have 2 weeks and 2 days left till her due date!  I'd also like to thank you for not getting puffy until after my huge baby shower *is 65 people to much?  Not when it's all family except for 4 people* I don't like being puffy but I feel that you've now earned it.  So whatever go for it *but I am watching my salt intake like a maniac*

Dear Burt's Bees I've always loved your products and I even have some of your baby stuff then I found out you now sell/make baby clothes and I couldn't be more thrilled because they are so adorable *but seriously also sold at Target what is with me and Target lately? I've always been such a walmart girl!* !  Even though we're 99% sure we're having a girl I couldn't help but get a couple of your gender neutral things I love yellow, cream, and gray anyway so I have no probs putting my baby in them!  Though I did give in and get one girly outfit...how do you say no to that? ... ♥
*husband resting comfortably and feeling the baby move a few weeks ago...not even knowing the crazy puffy hormonal wife was riiight around the corner*
Dear Husband I know I am starting to nest and it's your first week back at work...life is just not fair for you.  Please remember that I love you and the crazy will be over soon!

Dear Pinterest you are seriously the root of my problem I know think everything has to be ridiculously organized and cute unfortunately it can sometimes be quite expensive to reach that happy medium.  What the heck.  Stop it.  I mean that.

*just the outside of our house at Christmas time back before it made me want to poke my eye out with a stick*
Dear Home you are bothering me so much it's ridiculous, I want you organized, clean, pretty, yeah OK so that's basically everything you are not right now.  I find myself really struggling to make sure everything I'm getting is cute and homey and pretty as well as functional *the functional aspect is kinda bringing me down not gonna lie it would be so much easier if I just had to worry about you being cute!* but I'm going to keep trying and hopefully with dad and husband working on some projects for me this weekend I can get you all straightened out Before the little one makes his/her appearance *because the closer the due date gets I'm realizing it is very possible Abby could be an Andrew* so this weekend is going to be full of balancing and figuring out money and trying to get everything we need to have for when the baby comes home, my hospital bag *oh my goodness I am that person that has not packed it yet!* and what we need to fix up the house a bit.

Dear Money please multiple...and I mean like rabbits!  Seriously we could use more of you at this particular point.  Of course some money we do have coming in his horrendously late so that is irritating and frustrating and a bit of everything negative and blah.  But I'm doing a fabulous job of not freaking out!...In my somewhat humble opinion anyway.

Facebook

So I deleted my facebook well over a year ago, actually almost two I think.  It's been nice not having it!  So so nice.  But sometimes I miss it, today I'm kind of missing it.  I'm thinking about how I'd like to put up pregnancy pictures, and ones of us for the family to see.  And how much I miss my Hero's Honey group!  They were such a good support system!  I miss being able to just talk with them all.  I've been debating getting facebook again...maybe just military friends and family?  No old 'friends' from high school or random acquaintances.  Maybe a facebook for husband and I to share stuff with our family.  But I am a little concerned.  What if I can't stay off of it?  I had a problem at one time...a B-I-G problem!  Yes that problem came after he'd been deployed so I was used to ALWAYS being on it.  But maybe now that he's home I can give it another go? hmmmmmm

Friday's Letters

Dear Husband you're away doing Army things until Sunday night and you left yesterday, I must admit to feeling a little bit *a lot* lost without you here or just knowing I won't get to put my cold feet on you every night...it makes me sad!  But I'm hoping to get lots of stuff done while you're gone so that'll keep me busy.  Dear Church Baby Shower you are next Saturday and I'm starting to get sick, sore throat and everything.  This is not good.  I really want to go and have a good time at this first baby shower!  Dear Tractor I really hope your seat drys out before I have to go drive you and haul wood with you today.  Dear  Christmas stuff I'm trying not to go crazy and buy a bunch of your amazing sparkly goodness this weekend in fact I'm going to make a list of what we Need not just what I want.  Dear Grandma you don't know it but as soon as December hits and you and Grandpa go somewhere for the day Mom and I will be Shanghaiing your living room and putting up your tree, I know it stresses you out Thinking about putting it up but as soon as it's up you thank us.  Dear Fall I'm really really enjoying you this year.  It's been so much fun especially with husband here.

5 for Five

FantasticallyAverage

linking up with Fantastically Average again!

Here is my list from last week's 5 for Five link up
  1. Continue to do and complete my daily spiritual routine *daily prayer list, devotions, and blessings list*
  2. Get ALL the laundry done *that includes being folded and put away nicely, not just clean in the hamper Marie*
  3.  Blog 3 times this week *1 inspirational, 1 link up, and 1 freebie w/photos*
  4. Start on my book to-do list
  5. Deep clean the house every day *dusting, floor cleaning, Everything*
I failed on 1,2,5, and I did ok on number 3.

Lol I'm pretty disapointed in myself I guess I underestimated what having a doctor appointment, being sick, and having to go grocery shopping 2 days in a row would do to my pregnant self.  It was hot and ankles were swollen!  It was miserable lol though that's not an excuse, just gotta keep plugging away at it this week though LOL!  Still love the idea of this link-up and I think it's so great!

so my list for this week

1. Wear human clothes *not yoga pants or sweats* and makeup at least 4 days this week.
2. Blog at least 3 times this week. *inspirational, freebie, and share a recipe*
3. Keep up on the house *if I can't deep clean at least halfway decent will suffice*
4. Keep up with my daily *or what should be my daily* spiritual routine
5.Finish a craft or a project for the house *and blog about it*

A Fine Friday

Today I woke up with crazy amounts of energy *much to the dismay of my poor sleepy husband* ever since I stepped out of bed this morning I've been cleaning and moving things and trying to prepare our room for the upcoming projects that I know we have.  It's irritating though when you're just waiting for more funds to do said projects it is actually one of the more frustrating things in life I think.  But I found a good distraction!  A movie trailer for the October film "The Big Wedding" it looks to be like another awesome and funny Romantic comedy and I just love Diane Keaton *did I spell that right?* So until I can get some projects done and out of the way I'm going to content *I mean try to be content* with packing up little things and nicknacks and making more and more lists, and maybe goofing around on the internet a bit!  What are you doing this fine Friday?

Smile

Well this morning I have to go and get blood work done *ew/ouch but at least after child birth I will most likely laugh at the threat of needles and stuff* and then I'm going all around to a bunch of stores with my mom and grandmother *aka my posse* including but not limited to a bridal shop in search of a peach bridesmaid dress and babies R us to test out the potential glider I found online ... but I have to see if my butt fits in it Now and if it will fit in it during the 7-9 month period of which I am sure I will absolutely B-L-O-W-U-P!  So anyway lately morning sickness and heart burn and what seems to be an almost constant burping have taken over my life and made normal or ya know happy seem utterly impossible.  But I'm going to buck up and try to just smile and be happy and wear my stretchy pants and rock them.  Because sometimes in life you just need to smile your way through it *and sometimes just give in and wear the freaking stretchy pants*

Second Hand Sunday

So today is just going to be a quick second hand sunday post!  It's rainy weather here and we've been in construction and projects and such so been a little busy!  But I had some stuff saved for just such an emergency!

My first second hand find is actually from my mom!  I saved this stool from eternity at the dump!  The cushion had fallen off the frame and my mom was ready for something else.  But I just loved the colors of the cushion and brown of the wood!  It's just faded and battered enough to be perfect for me.

So with a little dusting polish and alot of super glue it's just fine and looks perfect in our little space!

Now this is a second hand treasure of my dad's!  Please excuse the gasoline cans lol!  This is an old horse trailer that couldn't be used anymore so it was heading to the junk pile until my dad decided to paint it white and put up some lattice where the doors are and close it all up...and there you go!

It's now a cute dumpster!  So we don't have to make dump trips as often and it just looks so cute on the ranch!  I love it when my dad gets creative LOL

Do you have any thrift store finds that you just love?  Any old family teasures?  If you have something you'd like to share just grab a button and link up!  I'd love to see what you have!
