Payday Perspective

Getting paid is fun.  It's a great feeling to have money again sometimes it just seems like you can breathe easier after you find out the check has been deposited in the bank account...until you start pulling out the list of bills that need to be paid, the list of household and/or car repairs, or just the things you need to get to cross off that darn to-do list.  More often than not these are not 'fun' things they aren't things you'd choose to spend your money on.  But unfortunately in the blinding heat of august in northern California a new air conditioner is going to help out the family as a whole a lot more than me getting a new pair of UGGs *dang it* having to pay insurance, credit card bills, set aside money for gas *is the price ever going to go down?* those things are necessities while maybe fun things like UGGS, video games, vacations...are a little more unnecessary.  But it doesn't keep it from hurting just the teensiest tiniest bit when you Finally get that pay check and then it rather quickly starts to disappear as the necessities are taken care of.  Oh the joys of being an adult lol, but a big plus is that when these things are taken care of in the long run it's wonderful.  It's great not to be behind on bills or credit card payments.  It's amazing to have a car that doesn't break down every two seconds.  And when that 107 august day finally hits it is nothing short of heavenly to have a new air conditioner.  Maybe it's not a 'fun' payday it's more of a necessary payday but that's ok getting it all out of the way this week maybe next payday can be a funner payday.  Maybe then we'll be able to get the stuff for our room we need, the new paint, stuff that's a little bit more fun than getting the car tuned!  It's all about perspective and patience.  Something up until this year I was severely lacking.  So I now entertain this lovely thought...

Saving&Stamps

So I had a whole other awesome post set up for tonight but I couldn't get this out of my mind!  I've recently gotten into eBay if you remember I'm totally an amazon girl... usually but the item I was salivating over and dreaming of I lost, so sad.  I was super disapointed but the bidding got a little to high for me.  You see I've been really into Beatrix Potter lately, I love her and her drawings and the cartoons I just can't get enough!  And I've also got a blossoming love affair with stamps going!  Now apparently Beatrix Potter stamps are not that easy to find all the ones on eBay are up in the $20's and $30's and thats for only ONE ...where we are financially I couldn't dream of spending money on something like stamps.  But I am positively salivating over these ridiculously cute and expensive stamps!  So I can't spend lots and lots of money but I can Save change, can't I?  Yes.  Yes I can.  I am horrible with change I'm that person that shoves it into the bottom of my purse and it dissapears somehow but no more!  I took a mason jar and some chalkboard paint and went to work on making this...

if you're wondering why it also says teapot thats for another post but that is also a recent obesseion!

I even left part of the lid off the mason jar so it still looks like the whole thing is on there but it's even easier to get the change in there and it's right when you walk in the door
*I'm trying to make this as easy as possible can you tell?*
So I've been hording change for about a week and husband counted it all out tonight
*he's my financial advisor LOL*

I have a grand total saved of

$16.06

...Super proud of myself lol now what I Usually would do is go find something to buy NOW instead of continuing to SAVE like I should do, but luckily my husband is here and says no and puts the jar out of reach until my fit-of-needing-to-spend passes...Love him.

Well wish me luck in my quest to save, get stamps, and not make it a totally painful experience!

A Big Blessing and a little thank you

I just want to say Thank you SO much to Janey and Elizabeth for their sweet comments the other day on This post.  It all did work out for the best, we came into a little extra money
*the military doesn't ALWAYS screw you in the butt I guess*
and we were able to get something we've been REALLY wanting, something my parents have been really Needing, and had a little thrift store fun at the same time!

*most of my purchases I'm going to keep hidden until Second Hand Sunday don't forget to Link up!*

This is a REALLY crappy picture sorry it was raining outside, we got this table at a thrift store it was PERFECT for what we want which is a potting table in our little shed/project/gardening area and in the summer we can move it onto the porch and eat there! I Love it!

Comfortable and Cute...I'm a happy girl lol

This is my new outfit the husband got for me *he spoiled me realllll good*

Here are the chairs we got my mom that came with the table!

My mother has not had 4 matching chairs for her kitchen in YEARS.  These are solid wood, and dark which we really like!

And they have this super cute pear design on each one with the blossom on it!
